Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our team. The Shop Assistant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store, and assisting customers with their purchases.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers as they enter the store and provide assistance as needed
Assist customers with their purchases, including answering questions about products and helping them find what they are looking for
Maintain a clean and organized store, including restocking shelves and keeping the store tidy
Process transactions using the cash register and credit card machine
Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise
Provide feedback to the store manager about customer needs and preferences
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic math skills and proficiency with cash registers and credit card machines
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
Working Conditions: The Shop Assistant will work in a retail environment, which may include standing for extended periods of time and working weekends and holidays. The position may also require lifting and carrying merchandise and stocking.
Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. Will be starting on a base of R4000 if successful.
