Professional Nurse (2)Polokwane, Capricorn District, LimpopoCHoiCe Trust, a NPO serving as a Sub-Recipient to NACOSA for the implementation of the AGYW programme, funded by Global Fund, is recruiting key positions for this work in Polokwane sub-district, Limpopo Province. The My Journey programme provides a comprehensive package of health, psychosocial and empowerment services for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), supporting them to make informed choices and reduce their risk of HIV infection, ensuring access to youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services.As part of this initiative, CHoiCe is recruiting dedicated, community-focused individuals who are passionate about supporting young women and promoting health and wellbeing. This includes a NIMART Professional Nurse.The Professional Nurse is responsible for the provision of quality comprehensive HIV and Primary Health Care services to girls and young women (age 15 – 24 years) in Polokwane Sub￾District, Limpopo, within a fixed and mobile clinic settings. He or she will be required to provide comprehensive adolescent girl and young women (AGYW)-friendly clinical services within a multi-disciplinary team, including primary health services, counselling for and promoting risk reduction and holistic care, HIV counselling and testing, nurse-initiated and managed anti￾retroviral therapy (ART), and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) according to Department of Health guidelines, and identifying and supporting clients with ART failure or complications. The nurse will be required to provide sexual reproductive health care, including sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment and support comprehensive sexuality education in school, and to conduct TB screening. They will need to prescribe and dispense appropriate treatment in line with good pharmacy practices. The nurse will also be required to support and guide Peer Educators in providing support to clients prior to and following testing and treatment, and support the delivery of health promotion and education programmes. They must perform administrative and reporting tasks as required, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement practices.Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:The appointed individual is expected to have the following experience and qualifications:- Degree/Diploma in Nursing with minimum 4 years’ experience – Dispensing license and NIMART registration required- Must be trained in the dispensing and management of PrEP and SRHR services- Registration with South African Nursing Council compulsory- Experience in working with a key population, specifically AGYW, would be an advantageHIV, AIDS and STI treatment and care experience required- Be computer literate with report writing skills- Be able to work non-traditional, flexible hours and days, and in community settingsThe Professional Nurse must be able to work independently, have good communication skills, be detail-oriented, well organised and deadline driven. The individual must have tenacity, patience, passion for working with people, be accurate and precise.
